Perks of being a wallflower

Today’s post is something a little off from what I my posts usually would be like. Today, I’m going to introduce, or re- introduce a beautiful book called The Perks of being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky.
I was on an emotional roller coaster while reading the book. It is just so pure and so blunt, bringing up the issues like teenage sex, the awkward stage of adolescence, drug abuse and growing up. Being a teenager myself, I could totally relate to the book, like many others who reads it.
Charlie, the protagonist of the novel, to me, is just this innocent boy stepping up his game in his teenage realm. I know this sounds childish but I couldn’t help but fall in love with him. He’s not really a loser, yet he’s also not at all popular. Mediocre teenage boy.
It is really a deeply affecting story, reading Charlies endeavors from masturbation to getting drunk. It’s amusing to a certain extent too. This book made me laugh, this book make me cry, this book stirs up just this whole tornado of emotions in me.
The novel actually reminds me of when I was reading The Curios Incident of the Dog in the night time. A new perspective of reading (for me anyways) from a boys point of view. It really is interesting, it’s one of the books that made me think about life.
So go ahead, read the book and tell me if you like it. If you already have, then leave a comment and tell me what you think of the book (:
Thanks for reading!
P.S Recommend me some nice books will ya?
